A confident competitor with a deep understanding of the game, Gia “BoomBoom” Culler-Guerra proudly represents FGCU Women’s Golf as an NCAA Division I athlete.
Originally from Miami Springs, Florida, Gia’s connection to golf began almost as soon as she could walk. From swinging plastic clubs at home with a ping-pong ball to stepping onto a golf course by age three, the game quickly became part of her identity. She competed in her first tournament—the Drive, Chip & Putt—at just five years old, marking the beginning of a lifelong competitive journey.
Over the years, Gia’s dedication translated into standout performances. Her best recorded tournament score includes a 31 for nine holes, and at age six she achieved a rare hole-in-one on a 120-yard par four, an albatross (-3)—an exceptional accomplishment at any level of the game.
Gia went on to enjoy a stellar high school career representing Miami Springs Senior High School in the Florida High School Athletic Association (FHSAA). Competing as a Golden Hawk, she captured 11 FHSAA Major Overall Titles, including six Class 2A Overall District Championships, three Class 2A Overall Regional Championships, and two Greater Miami Athletic Conference Overall Championships (competing in the event twice). She also medaled twice at the state championship level and was ranked #1 in Class 2A in the FHSAA iWanamaker Rankings during her sophomore, junior, and senior years.

Equally committed in the classroom, Gia graduated Cum Laude, earning recognition as the Female Athletic Scholar of the Year for the Class of 2025, at Miami Springs Senior High School with the Greater Miami Athletic Conference.
Gia currently competes as a member of the Florida Gulf Coast University Women’s Golf Team, an NCAA Division I program in the ASUN Conference. The Eagles are the reigning 2024 ASUN Conference Champions, led by Head Coach Shannon Sykora and Assistant Coach Emma Bradley. Surrounded by a talented roster, Gia continues to elevate her game while pursuing her studies in the LUTGERT COLLEGE OF BUSINESS while MAJORING IN FINANCE at Florida Gulf Coast University in Fort Myers, Florida.
To God be all the glory.
